Kongjia Jun Kiln

Kongjia Jun Kiln, founded in 1987 in Shenhou Town, Yuzhou, Henan Province—the historic heartland of Jun porcelain—stands as a leading institution in contemporary Jun ceramic art. Established by the Kong family, a lineage dedicated to Jun porcelain for generations, the kiln integrates research, creation, production, and exhibition, and serves as an official inheriting unit of China’s nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage: Jun porcelain firing techniques.

The kiln has received numerous honors. In 2002, it was designated a “Henan Famous Brand” by the Henan Provincial Government. In 2006, it was recognized as a “Henan Well-Known Trademark” and an enterprise “Honoring Contracts and Maintaining Credit.” In 2012, it was officially named a National Cultural Industry Demonstration Base by the Ministry of Culture. In 2023, it was further recognized as a National Industrial Tourism Demonstration Base and selected as part of the eighth batch of Henan Time-Honored Brands.

Several representative works—including Great Leader Zun, Guotai Ding, Feng Zun, and Small-Mouth Vase—are housed in the collection of the National Museum of China. Harmony Across the Four Seas has been collected by the United Nations Headquarters as a symbol of Chinese cultural heritage. In addition, Great Leader Zun and the hanging plate Splendid National Beauty were included in a Grade 9 Art textbook published by the People’s Fine Arts Publishing House. For sixteen consecutive sessions, the kiln has led the design and production of official state gifts for the China-ASEAN Expo.

In 2010, Kongjia Jun Kiln initiated the China Jun Porcelain Cultural Park, a 156-acre complex recognized as a National AAAA-Level Tourist Attraction and a key provincial cultural project. Designed in traditional Ming-style architectural form, the park centers on Tiancheng Pavilion, which houses the Jun Porcelain Culture Museum (a National Grade II Museum), exhibition halls structured around the Five Elements philosophy, master studios, research and exchange spaces, archives, and galleries. The park integrates Jun porcelain heritage preservation, creative development, tourism experiences, cultural performances, research孵化, academic exchanges,专题 exhibitions, cultural trade, and Confucian heritage transmission—all aimed at establishing Jun porcelain as a defining cultural emblem of China’s Central Plains and expanding its influence both domestically and internationally as “China’s Premier Jun Porcelain Cultural Park.”
